Categories
This is a single-stage competition, only offered as a live performance at selected venues listed, where you perform a music or drama item.
The categories are:
MUSIC GRADING
MUSIC OPEN
DRAMA OPEN - SOLO
DRAMA OPEN - GROUP
MUSIC GRADING
Select a category and perform ONE grade exam piece from a recognised exam board. (maintain the existing chart)
Each participant may perform more than one instrument, but may NOT select more than one level per instrument.
MUSIC OPEN
Select an instrument and perform ONE free-choice piece, of any genre, according to your age category and following the time-limit given.
DRAMA OPEN - SOLO
Select a category and perform one or two items, according to the requirements.
The drama item is all free-choice, except for Mime, which has specific themes listed in the Rules and Regulations.
Participants are encouraged to use the monologues by Revolution Arts UK or may select any other works of their choice.
DRAMA OPEN - GROUP
Select a category and perform one or two items, according to the requirements.
Items are free choice, except for devised drama, which must select one of the topics listed in the Rules & Regulations.
Group sizes must have a minimum of 5 members, up to a maximum of 20 members.
Fees
Attendance wrist tag is priced at RM20 per day; and available for purchase at the reception counter on event day.

Top performers selected by the adjudicators will also gain a free entry to one of the following international festivals:
Bangkok Rock & Pop Fest
International Drum Festival, Jakarta
Vietnam International Music and Arts Festival
Spotlight Drama Festival, Bangkok
Adjudicators
Music
Only the performance will be judged. Participants are strongly encouraged to dress-up for the event but no marks will be awarded for attire.
The performance will be judged based on:
Fluency of the performance, including the natural sync to any backing track
Proper control of the instrument or voice, reflecting tone colour / dynamics
Musicality and communication, showing confidence, stage-presence and conveying the intentions of the composer or song-writer
The adjudicators will award each performance a gold or silver or bronze or honourable mention, and write a report of the performance. This report will be sent directly to the participant email.
Drama
The performance will be judged based on:
Vocal audibility, clarity and expression.
Inventive use of the physicality and the space
Creativity and ownership of the presentation
A spontaneous engagement with the audience
In addition to the above, for the category:
Choral Speaking: Ability of the group to work as a team and integration of any gesture, movement or sound effects
Drama Monologues and Group Drama: Characterisation and inhabitation of the role
The adjudicators will award each performance a gold or silver or bronze or honourable mention, and write a report of the performance. This report will be sent directly to the participant email.
